Olson Consulting Team helps ensure the success of the principal and their leadership team by providing an experienced, trusted, knowledgeable, and confidential coach.  Dr. Olson will review, assess, and as appropriate will:

• Provide strategic advice to improve practices, increase student achievement and close achievement gaps 

• Provide technical advice to implement strategies 

• Assist the principal and their leadership team with organizing their work to maintain balance in an often stressful role 

• Support the development of key instructional systems:

  • ​collaborative planning and professional learning communities (PLC)

  • systems for classroom walkthroughs, observation, and feedback

  • use of formative assessment, including data analysis and action planning

  • systems for coaching leaders, including assistant principals, team leaders, subject/content leaders, and instructional coaches 

• Support the development of key cultural systems, including:

  • ​routines and procedures to support an orderly school environment 

  • social-emotional learning

  • positive behavior supports and alternatives to suspensions 

  • restorative practices 

• Serve as a sounding board for goal setting, new ideas, and initiative development 

• Provide constructive feedback on their skills, behavior, and actions as a principal 

• Work with school leadership teams as needed to help them more effectively support the principal  

• Serve as a trusted confidante in stressful times
